Many restaurants rotate their menus seasonally, but The Dining Room at Rainbow Ranch Lodge is raising the bar. Open daily to the public, The Dining Room has long been a local favorite.
Guests can enjoy a lovely continental breakfast with favorites like hot oatmeal, fresh fruit, breads, and house-made granola with almonds.
For a late lunch or early dinner
... please stop in the lounge and try their Winter Comfort Menu. Yes, the name says it all. Think; meatloaf, Chicken Pot Pie with puff pastry, and Pork Belly Ragout. For a real treat, try the RR Cheese Steak; shaved beef caramelized onions, fire-roasted poblano, and Manchego cheese. The lounge opens at 3:30 p.m. with happy hour specials running until 6:00 p.m.
Speaking of cocktails
... the mixologists have been busy infusing, muddling, and aging. Whiskey drinkers will love the signature Manhattan, Montana Sky. Buffalo Trace Whiskey, Taylor Fladgate Tawny Port, and bitters. Made in small batches, this concoction ages for 6 weeks in whiskey barrels. After time, the sweetness of the port comes through along with a hint of vanilla from the barrels. You’ll want to savor every sip of this one! For a lighter libation, try the Cucumber Lemongrass Mojito; lavender gin infused with lemongrass, then muddled with cucumber, mint, and fresh lime juice.
For a real treat, plan on a leisurely dinner - and don't skimp on the courses!
For starters, the smoked trout cheesecake is a must. Served with pickled vegetables, cornichons, and house-made Swedish rye bread, it is a beautiful combination of salty, smoky, sweet, and tangy. If you’re looking for a heartier salad, try the summer squash salad with quinoa, pumpkin seeds, cranberries, and a maple Dijon vinaigrette.
The Dining Room is known for its game meat,
and if you are a meat lover, you will understand why. The Wild Game Composition includes pheasant, elk, quail, saffron couscous, harissa, and preserved lemon, which pairs wonderfully with the rich meats.
For those who don’t eat meat, their vegetarian and seafood dishes are equally delicious. The Shrimp and Mussels are over the top. Including halibut and gulf shrimp, the abundant seafood is topped with a red pepper tomato fennel sauce and fresh baguette to soak it all up!
For special occasions, reserve the Bacchus Room, which features a long, rustic farm table and elegant leather chairs. The room looks into our award-winning wine cellar (wine tasting anyone?)
