A River Runs Through It, one of the most iconic films of the 1990s, not only pushed Brad Pitt into stardom; it showcased one of our area’s most valuable natural resources, the Gallatin River. The film propelled many an angler to the area and prompted newcomers to the sport, all lured by the gorgeous river, spectacular scenery, and world-famous trout.
The Gallatin is home to Brown, Rainbow, and Cutthroat trout, as well as mountain whitefish, and trust us; they are abundant! Most anglers practice catch and release, which ensures the population stays robust.
This summer, Rainbow Ranch has teamed up with Gallatin River Guides to offer half and full-day guided fishing trips! This is an excellent opportunity whether you are new to angling, new to the area, or appreciate having a knowledgeable fishing guide. For over 30 years, Gallatin River Guides has employed men and women with a love of angling and the propensity to pass along their expertise. In other words, they know how to get you into fish.
Couple that with a stay at the Rainbow Ranch, and you’re set up for an unforgettable trip. We’ll start you off with a hot breakfast to get you on your way. Don’t worry if you don’t own gear, our package includes everything you need for a productive day on the river (including lunch!) On return, enjoy a craft cocktail on the deck or a fireside hot tub soak. And, don’t worry about keeping the fish you catch, trout is always on the dinner menu. (Have we mentioned our amazing cuisine and award-winning wines?) Trust us, you’ll hit the sack feeling nice and relaxed.
